Joseph Fargnoli

Founder & AI Engineer

Joseph Fargnoli is the Founder & CEO of RITRE Corporation and the Founder of the New York Space Alliance (NYSA), a public benefit corporation built to connect New York’s resources to the rapidly expanding New Space economy. A career systems engineer turned AI architect and serial entrepreneur, Fargnoli brings decades of hands-on experience across artificial intelligence, electro-optical systems, advanced computing, and space-focused engineering to every venture he leads.

Joseph Fargnoli’s engineering career took shape across some of the most consequential programs in American defense and intelligence history. At Northrop Grumman’s Electronic Sensors and Systems group, he contributed to national electro-optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems demanding a level of precision that few engineering programs ever require. That foundation deepened during a long and distinguished tenure at Kodak / ITT / Exelis / Harris, where he worked across both national and commercial imaging systems — a dual-track expertise that remains rare in the field.

He went on to serve as a Technical Fellow within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Senior Vice President for Products at HySpecIQ, and Solutions Architect at both SMA, Inc. and Raytheon. His command of optical systems engineering, remote sensing, and electro-optical systems has been applied to programs where getting it wrong simply wasn’t an option.

"Engineering gives America the power to build what others only imagine; innovation gives it the courage to create what has never existed; and leadership gives it the moral direction to use that power in service of human progress. Together, they are not merely tools of national success — they are the disciplines through which America fulfills its destiny: to turn freedom, ingenuity, and responsibility into lasting benefit for the world."

What distinguishes Joseph Fargnoli from many engineers of comparable technical depth is what he chose to build once the institutional chapter of his career was well established. He founded RITRE Corporation to back seed and early-stage entrepreneurs with the potential to open new markets and generate lasting social and economic impact. He established the New York Space Alliance to accelerate the next generation of space-focused entrepreneurship across New York State. He co-founded SANABIT to pioneer the use of magnetoceuticals in accelerating healing, and Zero Valent NanoMetals to advance AI material science engineering in transition metals nano materials for next-generation semiconductor applications. He currently serves as an AI Architect in the IT indutry at a leading managed security and cloud services provider. Across each of these ventures, the throughline is consistent: engineering capability directed deliberately toward human progress.

Education & Experience

Joseph Fargnoli’s academic record spans mathematics, electrical engineering, optics, telecommunications, computer science, national security, and artificial intelligence — a breadth that is unusual by any measure and that directly informs the range of problems he has been equipped to take on throughout his career. He holds a Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence and an MS in Telecommunications from The George Washington University, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from GIT, an MS in Optics / Optical Sciences from the University of Rochester, and an MA in National Security & International Affairs from the Institute of World Politics. His undergraduate training includes an MS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Applied Mathematics & System Modeling from the University at Buffalo. His professional certifications extend further still, encompassing cybersecurity and microelectronics engineering from RIT, a Radar Engineering Certificate from Northrop Grumman, and a Certificate in Photonics from MIT.
